Many things in a companion bird's environment have toxic properties.  Foods that should never be given to a parrot include: Avocado pits or flesh , cherry or any kind of fruit pit, chocolate or other foods containing caffeine, high fat foods or alcohol.

Rope: Some types of rope can fray, become knotted and form loops that can easily trap a bird's foot. As the bird panics and struggles to free himself, he runs the risk of amputating a nail or talon.

The use of natural soft cotton rope, sisal rope or Paulie RopeTM are good choices to prevent accidents. It is always a good idea to check and trim any tangled or frayed bits of rope.    

     (Note: Paulie Rope TM is designed specifically for avian use, please do not confuse it with polyurethane rope found in local retail stores, it can be harmful to birds.)
